The Diversity, Belonging, & Wellness Specialist serves as the department expert for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and wellness initiatives at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). This role involves collaborating with faculty to develop curricular content through a DEI lens, ensuring that educational programs are inclusive and supportive of all students. The Specialist is responsible for assessing the needs of learners, designing and implementing effective solutions, and continuously improving related initiatives and programs to enhance student experiences. In addition to curriculum development, the Specialist provides individual and small group advising, leadership development, and mentoring to community-based student groups. This includes organizing school-wide programming that aligns with the university's diversity objectives and wellness principles. The position requires a proactive approach to fostering a sense of belonging among students, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds, and ensuring that all students have access to the resources and support they need to thrive in their academic and professional journeys. The Specialist will also engage in data management and documentation to evaluate the effectiveness of programs and initiatives, presenting findings to stakeholders to inform future strategies. This role is critical in promoting a culture of inclusivity and wellness within the UCSF community, contributing to the overall mission of developing competent and compassionate healthcare professionals.
