About The Position

The Diversity and Inclusion Specialist 3 (CCG) plays a crucial role in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion Management, providing guidance and support on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programming. This position is responsible for leading strategic planning efforts, coordinating recruitment and outreach initiatives, and ensuring the success of career centers aimed at increasing diversity in public service employment. The role involves supervising staff, developing training resources, and building relationships with community organizations to promote equal opportunity and inclusion within the workforce.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree and five years of professional experience in diversity and inclusion, equal opportunity, or human rights, including two years at a supervisory level.
  • Experience working with community service organizations focused on diversity and inclusion or in human resources/labor relations related to diversity.
  • Substitutions for experience include a master's degree in a related field or a doctorate in a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and oversee outreach and recruitment activities to increase diversity and inclusion.
  • Provide expert advice on diversity, inclusion, and equal employment opportunity issues to internal and external customers.
  • Attend meetings with community groups and organizations to promote diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Evaluate staff performance and determine training needs, counseling individuals on performance standards.
  • Act as a liaison between internal divisions to communicate exam and employment opportunities.
  • Develop and implement training for stakeholders on the Civil Service Merit System and recruitment strategies.
  • Coordinate statewide outreach and recruitment activities and submit related reports.
  • Build relationships with organizations serving historically marginalized communities to support diversity objectives.
  • Conduct research on effective recruitment strategies and track key performance indicators.
