About The Position

The Diversified Agriculture Technician at Kualoa Ranch Hawai'i plays a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of the agricultural site in Ka'a‘awa. This position involves a variety of tasks related to agricultural practices, livestock maintenance, and ensuring the overall efficiency and cleanliness of the agricultural area. The technician will work under the guidance of the Diversified Ag & Small Livestock Manager and contribute to a positive work environment while sharing the beauty and culture of Hawai'i with guests.

Requirements

• Previous experience in agricultural operations, including irrigation, herbicide/fertilizer application, weeding, seeding, transplanting, and harvesting.
• Ability to perform intensive manual labor for extended periods of time, under various weather conditions.
• Proficiency in the safe operation and basic maintenance of landscape power and hand tools.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to work well in both team and independent settings.
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily agricultural tasks including irrigation set-up and maintenance, planting, harvesting, fertilizing, and weeding.
• Assist in pest and disease management through safe and proper application of herbicides and fertilizers.
• Perform general site upkeep, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and efficiency within the agricultural area.
• Help maintain small livestock operations, and assist with aquaculture ponds and/or lo‘i as assigned.
• Operate and maintain basic landscaping power tools and hand tools safely and effectively.
• Monitor crop health, identify issues, and communicate observations to the Agriculture Manager.
• Work closely with team members and contribute to a positive, productive work environment.
