The Bureau of Communicable Diseases is responsible for the surveillance, prevention, and control of over 70 infectious diseases, including foodborne, waterborne, respiratory, zoonotic and vector-borne diseases. Within the Bureau of Communicable Diseases, the Disease Investigation Unit conducts rapid investigations of infectious disease cases, exposures, and outbreaks. The Disease Investigation Unit has openings for six new interns to assist with investigation of cases and outbreaks of infectious diseases, including foodborne and waterborne diseases. The candidate would start in May/June 2025 and continue working with the group through the 2025-2026 academic year. The candidate would work 35 hours/week during the summer and 19 hours/week/Part-time when school is in session.
