About The Position

The District Wide Special Education Paraeducator position at McCarthy Middle School involves supporting students with special educational needs under the direction of classroom teachers. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • For Title 1 Schools, Highly Qualified Status is required, which includes either an Associate's Degree or an equivalent two years of college, a Bachelor's degree, or Paraeducator II certification from the NH Dept of Education.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation and reinforcement of the instructional curriculum under the direction of the classroom teacher.
  • Help prepare and administer testing.
  • Provide input to teachers, guidance counselors, and school administration regarding student performance.
  • Assist with the implementation of IEP goals and objectives.
  • Support students' social-emotional and behavioral development.
  • Assist with fine and gross motor skills to foster independence.
  • Help with physical and minimal health needs of the children, including lifting, feeding, toileting/diapering, and personal hygiene.
