About The Position

Manage and coordinate technology services and provide extensive technical support and training for network users across the district. Optimize the utilization of network systems while maintaining full compatibility of services. Equips, manages, and ensures all aspects of system security requirements are met.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience in technical support service of networks and stand-alone computers.
  • Knowledge and expertise in KETS, E-rate processes, network security, and instructional software/hardware integration.
  • Knowledge and understanding of ISTE standards for teachers, students, and administrators.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a variety of groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and direct a team of district and school employees in making technology decisions for the school and district
  • Bachelor Degree required
  • Valid Kentucky driver’s license
  • Clear criminal background check (upon offer of employment)

Responsibilities

  • Implement the Kentucky Educational Technology System (KETS) initiative with regard to computer technology in administrative and instructional areas.
  • Manage and coordinate maintenance and repair of all computer systems in the district including all network systems
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade existing software; investigate new or superior software to enhance productivity of users.
  • Coordinate decision-making processes for district and school infrastructural technology purchases.
  • Ensure all technology, hardware, and software purchases comply with KETS standards and state regulations.
  • Manage KETS matching funds, Phase I/II allocations, and eRate activities to secure funding.
  • Supervise the installation, maintenance, and repair of district-wide networks, hardware, and software systems.
  • Serve as the primary contact between the district, school, and the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) Office of Technology (OET).
  • Coordinate technology professional development for staff, promote effective digital tool usage, and support the Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP).
  • Maintain AISD technology inventory and develop a long-range technology plan aligned to the district’s strategic plan.
  • Promote Digital Citizenship.
  • Manage and maintain the district/school website, ensuring timely content updates, security, ADA accessibility compliance, and coordination with school-level content contributors.
  • Administer and maintain the district’s email system (e.g., Google Workspace or Microsoft 365), including account provisioning/deactivation, security configuration, spam filtering, and data retention compliance.
  • Maintain a comprehensive inventory of all district technology assets, including asset tagging, device tracking, lifecycle management, surplus disposal procedures, and documentation aligned with audit requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a current inventory of all district software applications, digital tools, and subscription services, including license management, renewal tracking, privacy compliance (FERPA/COPPA), and cost analysis.
  • Implement and oversee district cybersecurity measures, including firewalls, endpoint protection, content filtering, multi-factor authentication, data backup systems, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Develop and maintain a district-wide cybersecurity and incident response plan, including staff training on phishing awareness, data protection, and digital safety practices.
  • Ensure regular system backups are performed and tested to protect district data integrity and continuity of operations.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal data privacy laws and implement comprehensive cybersecurity protocols to safeguard district networks, systems, and student/staff data.
  • Recommend and oversee the district technology budget and multi-year replacement cycle plan aligned with instructional and operational needs.
  • Ensures that the impact of technology use is evaluated and that all consolidated plans District-wide are amended in conjunction with recommendations related to technology issues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the superintendent.
