About The Position

At Bruegger’s Bagels, the company is committed to serving genuine, New York-style bagels and real, made-in-Vermont cream cheese, while also prioritizing work-life balance for its team members, with stores closing at 2pm. The District Shift Leader role is a targeted General Manager development plan, preparing individuals to take ownership of a bakery as a General Manager. District Shift Leaders perform management duties at a home location and support other bakeries in the market as needed, gaining independence and learning from various leaders. They are expected to lead to the General Manager standard in the absence of the General Manager, with shifts starting as early as 3am. The role involves leading by example, being a brand ambassador, providing coaching and training, and jumping into various roles every shift to ensure high-quality food and beverages for guests and maintain a safe, clean store environment. The GM development plan includes training in administrative duties such as inventory tracking, vendor orders, cash management, P&L analysis, achieving food cost and labor targets, scheduling, and recruiting quality team members.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Expected to fill in for General Managers at other locations within the market
  • Expected to accept a permanent General Manager promotion within the market when available, specific location is not guaranteed
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to work varied hours/days as business dictates including early hours and weekends (starting as early as 3am)
  • Must be able to pass background check
  • Possess a current, valid driver’s license
  • Must complete Bagel Brands ServSafe Certification program by the end of the GM development plan, if a valid certification is not already in possession

Responsibilities
