About The Position

At Einstein Bros. Bagels, the company believes in baking bagels fresh daily since 1995 and aims to spread joy and happiness while committing to work-life balance for its team, with stores closing at 2pm. The District Shift Leader role is a targeted General Manager development plan, preparing individuals to take ownership of a bakery as a General Manager. District Shift Leaders perform management duties at a home location and support other bakeries in the market, gaining independence and learning from various leaders. They are expected to lead by example, be a brand ambassador, and provide ongoing coaching and training. Shifts start as early as 3am for baking and store opening. The role involves jumping into different tasks to ensure high-quality food and beverages, and maintaining a safe, clean store environment. The GM development plan includes training in restaurant administrative duties such as inventory tracking, vendor orders, cash management, P&L analysis, achieving food cost and labor targets, scheduling, and recruiting team members.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old to apply
  • Expected to fill in for General Managers at other locations within the market
  • Expected to accept a permanent General Manager promotion within the market when available, specific location is not guaranteed
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to work varied hours/days as business dictates including early hours and weekends (starting as early as 3am)
  • Must be able to pass background check
  • Possess a current, valid driver’s license
  • Must complete Bagel Brands ServSafe Certification program by the end of the GM development plan, if a valid certification is not already in possession

  • A minimum of 2 years of leadership experience preferred
