About The Position

At Einstein Bros. Bagels, we believe in baking bagels fresh daily since 1995 and fostering a positive work environment with a strong emphasis on work-life balance, as stores close at 2 pm. The District Shift Leader role is part of a targeted General Manager development plan, preparing individuals to become a 'bagel boss' and eventually manage their own bakery. This position involves performing management duties at a primary location while also supporting other bakeries within the market, offering opportunities for increased independence and learning from various leaders. Shifts commence as early as 3 am, and the role requires leading by example, acting as a brand ambassador, and providing continuous coaching and training to teams. District Shift Leaders are expected to actively participate in all aspects of bakery operations, ensuring high-quality food and beverages for guests and maintaining a safe, clean store environment. The General Manager development plan includes comprehensive training in restaurant administrative duties such as inventory tracking, vendor orders, cash management, P&L analysis, achieving food cost and labor targets, scheduling, and recruiting quality team members. Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 30 hours/week required
  • Must be able to work varied hours/days as business dictates including early hours and weekends (starting as early as 3am)
  • Must be able to pass background check
  • Possess a current, valid driver’s license
  • Must complete Bagel Brands ServSafe Certification program by the end of the GM development plan, if a valid certification is not already in possession

  • A minimum of 2 years of leadership experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform management duties at a home location
  • Support other bakeries in the market as needed
  • Lead by example
  • Be a brand ambassador
  • Provide ongoing coaching and training for the teams
  • Jump into different roles every shift to ensure high-quality food and beverages for guests
  • Keep a safe, clean store environment
  • Participate in training for restaurant administrative duties such as inventory tracking, vendor orders, and cash management
  • Learn P&L analysis
  • Learn how to achieve food cost and labor targets
  • Learn scheduling
  • Learn recruiting quality team members
  • Fill in for General Managers at other locations within the market
  • Accept a permanent General Manager promotion within the market when available
