About The Position

District Sales Manager Equipment Rental - Columbus, OH Own the number. Build the playbook. Win the market. Vandalia Rental is scaling fast and winning faster—and we’re looking for a competitive sales leader who can set a bold strategy, coach a hungry team, and execute in the field to drive profitable, utilization-based growth. The successful candidate will work in partnership with the Branch Managers and District Manager to evaluate and grow our business through each of the rental locations. What you’ll do: Lead and coach a district sales team to hit rate and revenue goals—then raise the bar again. Assess, build, and implement district strategies that increase profitable revenue. Execute on the ground: rides-along, joint calls, pipeline reviews, pricing discipline, put deals together. Be a Vandalia Rental ambassador with industry leaders, relevant associations and committees. Identify opportunities to collaborate with organizations/companies/individuals that can lead to a prosperous relationship for both Vandalia Rental and current or future customers. Be a partner with your sales team to grow key accounts and strategic alliances. Review, report and act on key performance indicators regarding ROI of sales and marketing activities, sales pipelines, customer activity and projected opportunities. Plan, coordinate and attend customer focused events throughout the workday as well as after-hours or weekends as necessary. With your team, develop annual sales budgets and drive towards attainment. Requirements

  • 5+ years of sales leadership with a track record of revenue growth.
  • 5+ years’ experience in general equipment industry or similar utilization-based selling industries and have a good understanding of construction type equipment
  • Salesforce (or similar CRM) experience expected; strong communication and business acumen required.
  • Comfortable in construction, industrial, and office environments.
  • Must be able to visit customer job sites and be exposed to their environments; to include, but not limited to dirt, grease, oils, loud noise, and other elements common with construction and industrial workplaces.
  • Must be able to have exposure to heat in the summer and cold in the winter.
  • Must enjoy coaching a team: role-play calls, sharpen value messaging, and make your team better every week.
  • Must be willing to travel locally 70%+ to branches and customer sites. National travel is less than 10%. Candidates must live near their areas of responsibility.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to speak and read English proficiently.
  • Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • All Candidates will be required to take a Culture Index Survey.
