About The Position

East Penn Manufacturing, a world class leader in automotive battery manufacturing is looking for a District Sales Manager at our Honolulu, Hawaii warehouse. The District Manager (DM) is responsible for the operations pertaining to the warehouse, warehouse personnel and Sales Representatives. The DM is responsible for increasing district sales while controlling expenses. The DM’s responsibility is to meet corporate objectives while promoting a safe and productive working environment. The DM is directly involved in all hiring and developing of sales representatives and supports the Warehouse Manger in hiring and developing their operation. The DM is committed to the company’s success while upholding East Penn Company policies and culture.

Requirements

  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • 3 – 5 years sales experience
  • Strong financial understanding (example: manage to P&L, costing)
  • Experience in a related field
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for sales, accounts receivables, warehouse staffing, equipment, and a warehouse facility are managed properly. By doing so, achieve maximum efficiencies on a safe and profitable basis.
  • Manage and direct staff of sales personnel to meet sales goals and objectives.
  • In conjunction with the Warehouse Manager, manage the warehouse, office, and driver personnel.
  • Prospect new business
  • Manage assigned accounts
  • Develop strong customer relationship by spending two days per month working in the field with each Sales Team member
  • Attend open houses and customer events with Sales Team
  • Participate and conduct training sessions for employees and customers
  • Review and understand all National and OES Account program details
  • Have a structured business process to manage all Direct Customers
  • Ensure Sales Team is complying with SalesForce and expense reporting
  • Conduct monthly sales
  • Responsible for maximizing P&L results
  • Develop annual business plans
  • Demonstrate positive motivation and commitment to meet goals and deadlines
  • Resolve customer issues and provide outstanding customer relations.
  • Provide competitive information to Regional Manager
  • Submit all required reports to Regional Manager in a timely and professional manner
  • Understand and maximize the efficiency of each Sales Team member
  • Establish and manage a safe and efficient operational staff
  • Review account receivables, payables and all expenses
  • Collaborate with warehouse manager to maintain efficient delivery routes
  • Audit Mainframe functions to ensure processes are complete per corporate requirements and timelines
  • Conduct and document monthly audits of assigned branches and review result with warehouse manager
  • Ensure Warehouse Manager is in compliance with all government and company regulations
  • Work with warehouse manager to control expenses
  • Establish, communicate, and enforce standards and expectations for customer relations to provide outstanding customer service
  • Collaborate with Warehouse Manager on all new hires and promotions within the warehouse operations
  • Be able to perform functions in the absence of Warehouse Manager
  • Participate in inventories to help monitor and control variance
  • Establish standards with Warehouse Manager on processes to assure maximum output productivity to meet customer demand
  • Ensure that Company Code of Conduct is implemented and disciplinary action is taken when necessary with support from Personnel Department
  • Review annual Capital Budget Request with Warehouse Manager
  • Participate in Tailgate Meetings when possible
  • Ensure Warehouse Manager is conducting monthly meeting with Warehouse members and participate when possible
  • Ensure proper performance and organizational growth through effective recruitment, development, and succession planning
  • Empower employees to take on more responsibilities
  • Set goals and standards for the sales and operation teams that are obtainable and lead to the overall betterment of the organization
  • Supports East Penn’s open door policy
  • Cultivate a positive work environment that makes employees feel appreciated
  • Identify key people within the Sales organization to mentor for professional advancement
