About The Position

Our client, a large independent seed company is seeking a driven and dynamic District Sales Manager to play a pivotal role in maintaining and growing the Company’s sales goals. This role focuses on driving value through the sales process by leveraging personal and technical effectiveness to elevate the customer experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and expanding sales within the Southcentral MN region, focusing on corn, soybean, and alfalfa seed products.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in applied agronomy or seed sales, with a proven track record of success.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of corn, soybean, alfalfa, and wheat seeds, with a deep understanding of agricultural production practices.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned territory as needed to meet customer and business needs.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and perform tasks that require physical effort.
  • Ability to work independently from home, managing time and resources effectively.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft 365 and Seedware for data management and communication.
  • Highly motivated, goal-oriented, and a self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales of corn, soybean, and alfalfa seeds within the assigned territory, meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Identify and engage new key customers, understand their unique business needs, and develop strategic plans to drive territory growth.
  • Implement innovative marketing and sales strategies to enhance product visibility and drive customer engagement.
  • Set ambitious sales goals and develop actionable plans to expand market share and sales opportunities.
  • Maintain strong, profitable relationships with existing customers while continuously identifying and cultivating new business opportunities.
  • Provide expert advice to customers on product selection and placement based on specific agronomic requirements and best practices.
  • Work proactively to develop new business opportunities, leveraging market insights to expand the company’s footprint in the region.
