District Sales Manager – Remote (West Coast) Position Snapshot The District Sales Manager represents Insteel Wire Products in an assigned territory by prospecting, selling, and servicing accounts. They work to build and maintain effective communication channels with prospects and accounts while achieving sales objectives by increasing project opportunities at existing accounts and establishing new customers. Additionally, they prioritize a seamless sales cycle by coordinating efficiently between Estimating and Project Management. This is a remote position. Preference will be given to candidates residing in Arizona or Texas, as the role supports a West Coast territory and these states align with our current operational footprint. Essential Duties and Responsibilities An individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Develop and implement sales methods in assigned territory/market to achieve business plan objectives. In coordination with bidding department, determine and negotiate customer requirements based on the scope of the project, including customer preferences, regional nuances, technical challenges, pricing, and logistics. Determine best internal resources to address project challenges. Make pricing recommendations to National Sales Manager. Once project is awarded, ensures proper project handoff to assigned Project Manager Periodically meet with customers to develop rapport, review status of relationship, and performance to customer expectations. Develop and present analysis of business trends, customer relations, competitor information, and other historical/forecasting data. Maintain accurate records of all accounts, current, prospects, and competition. Prepare and submit travel itineraries and call reports on a weekly basis; forecasts, territory activity, and expense reports monthly and other reports as required by National Sales Manager. Understand present, and future, market conditions based on research, customer input, broad industry analysis, economic indicators, and other factual and intuitive sources of information. Communicate with Estimating Manager, National Sales Manager, and others as necessary to inform of all activity in the territory. Supervisory Responsibilities None. Professional Qualifications Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions. Proven ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams and across organizational levels. Demonstrated initiative and resourcefulness in researching, troubleshooting, and resolving challenges. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity. Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a team. Education and Experience Extensive professional training (Bachelor's Degree) in engineering or construction. A broad knowledge of marketing and sales; specifically prospecting and building customer relations. Knowledge of the engineered structural mesh and/or prestressed concrete industries, preferred. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar industry or 3 years field sales experience in similar industry. Ability to read construction plans. An equivalent combination of education and work-related experience may be acceptable.
