About The Position

Hoegemeyer is seeking a District Sales Manager (DSM) to support and grow the Hoegemeyer seed business across Central Kansas. The District Sales Manager plays a critical leadership role in developing customer relationships, recruiting and strengthening dealer partners, and driving profitable growth within an assigned territory. This position requires a self-motivated, relationship-driven professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced agricultural environment and is passionate about helping farmers win. As a DSM, you will serve as the face of Hoegemeyer in your district by setting clear expectations, coaching dealer teams, and delivering on sales and profitability goals while championing our farmer-first culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2–4 years of related sales and/or agricultural experience (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Demonstrated ability to sell, negotiate, influence, coach, and resolve conflict
  • Proficiency with computer and sales technology tools
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Willingness to travel and work in a rural agricultural environment
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds unassisted
  • Visa sponsorship and international relocation are not available for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Sales Growth & Market Share
  • Increase distribution of Hoegemeyer products by selling direct buyers and supporting dealer sales efforts
  • Recruit new dealers and direct-buy accounts in areas lacking representation
  • Develop and execute district strategies to grow acres, expand distribution, and build demand
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts by crop throughout the year
  • Deliver late spring orders as needed to support customer success
  • Build & Develop Dealer Partnerships
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop high-performing dealers
  • Lead annual dealer business planning and monitor progress toward sales growth goals
  • Train dealers on product positioning, sales programs, and selling techniques
  • Encourage collaboration and teamwork across the dealer network
  • Recognize and reward performance and teamwork
  • Deliver candid feedback and hold partners accountable when necessary
  • Customer Experience & Execution
  • Follow up with direct buyers throughout the season to confirm orders and optimize delivery efficiency
  • Collect accounts receivable in alignment with company programs and guidelines
  • Respond promptly to seed complaints and document observations and customer concerns
  • Plan and conduct dealer meetings, appreciation events, and customer gatherings
  • Agronomy & Field Leadership
  • Plant and harvest on-farm plots and strip trials to deepen product knowledge
  • Report plot harvest results in a timely manner
  • Partner closely with Agronomists to educate dealers and farmers on product performance and agronomic best practices
  • Deliver presentations at district meetings, field days, and company events
  • Business & Financial Management
  • Submit sales call reports as directed by the Regional Sales Manager
  • Analyze district performance and manage expenditures within budget requirements
  • Continuously evaluate territory potential and resource allocation to maximize ROI
