About The Position

The District Sales Manager (DSM) is responsible for managing and enhancing the sales performance of Sales Consultants (SCs) within the district. This role focuses on driving a performance culture, coaching, and developing the sales team to achieve profitable growth in case and gross profit (GP). The DSM will engage in direct coaching, lead district meetings, and implement strategies to improve customer engagement and sales effectiveness.

Requirements

  • High School education required; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in growing profitable sales in the foodservice industry.
  • 5+ years of foodservice sales experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with various stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Proficiency in Sysco's CRM tool for planning and forecasting sales growth.
  • Mastery in consultative selling, marketing principles, and negotiations.
  • Ability to coach, counsel, train, and direct associates effectively.
  • Capability to supervise and motivate others.

  • Experience in customer relationship management and sales reporting.
  • Knowledge of market trends and product innovations in the foodservice industry.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the performance and development of Sales Consultants (SCs) within the district.
  • Conduct an average of 3-5 SC work-withs a week for coaching and direction.
  • Lead and facilitate Friday district meetings to educate and inspire the sales team.
  • Direct Customer Engagement efforts to enhance service options for Sysco customers.
  • Promote continuous improvement in technology, sales skills, and product knowledge.
  • Utilize Sales Support resources to maximize SC consultative time.
  • Leverage CRM for sales planning, prospecting, and customer engagement.
  • Deliver Sysco brand results and manage conversion opportunities.
  • Support and promote national campaigns and promotions.
  • Provide coaching, training, and feedback to develop consultative selling skills.
  • Execute territory planning and management effectively.
  • Build independent relationships with top customers and high-value prospects.
  • Champion company initiatives and implement center-led strategies.
