About The Position

The District Sales Manager for the Maryland & Washington, D.C. Territory at Klein Tools is responsible for driving sales growth, building relationships with key stakeholders, and executing territory plans to exceed sales quotas. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing product launches, maintaining engaging product displays, and promoting brand awareness within the skilled trades community. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales, strong communication skills, and the ability to adapt to changing business needs.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least 1 year of successful sales experience with a proven track record of exceeding goals and driving growth.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience using CRM software to manage customer data.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to influence and inspire a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel extensively, drive long distances, and perform product demonstrations.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license and be bondable.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a territory plan that consistently achieves and exceeds sales goals.
  • Take charge of new product launches and promotions, ensuring maximum impact.
  • Establish trust and collaboration with top decision-makers, senior managers, and business owners at distributor locations.
  • Engage in strategic planning with key national accounts, marketing group accounts, and distributor partners.
  • Ensure in-store displays are fully stocked, visually appealing, and aligned with company brand standards.
  • Engage with vocational schools, trade education centers, and industry organizations to increase Klein Tools' visibility.
  • Continuously prospect for new distribution channels and open new accounts to grow the territory's footprint.
  • Conduct site visits to end users and job sites, providing in-depth product knowledge and driving preference for Klein Tools.
  • Keep CRM records up to date, submit timely reports, and maintain all company property with care and responsibility.
  • Respond to the dynamic nature of sales by taking on other related duties as required.
