About The Position

The District Sales Manager, DBS at Medtronic is responsible for managing the achievement of unit and revenue goals for assigned therapy products within a designated district. This role involves developing strategies to meet business objectives, training and developing sales personnel, managing district assets, and fostering customer relationships. The position emphasizes accountability, quality, and compliance with the Quality System, while also promoting healthcare access and equity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of medical sales experience
  • Advanced Degree and 3 years of medical sales and leadership experience

Nice To Haves

  • Successful medical sales record, preferably with Medtronic Neuromodulation products
  • Experience with sales and personnel management functions
  • Knowledge of Medtronic Neuromodulation assigned product/therapy customer base
  • Additional experience in marketing, training, technical services or related areas

Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing strategies to achieve short and long-term business objectives
  • Training and developing employees in sales skills, product knowledge, teamwork, time and territory management, competitive knowledge, and career goals pursuits
  • Coordinating sales efforts and communicating corporate, divisional, regional and/or district mission, goals and activities
  • Directing and motivating personnel to achieve unit and revenue goals
  • Providing ongoing feedback/coaching and regularly scheduled performance reviews
  • Implementing corrective actions when necessary
  • Assisting employees with individual development plans (IDPs)
  • Applying customer focused quality (CFQ) concepts
  • Providing overall management of district assets including developing and managing budgets and forecasts
  • Ensuring efficient, effective use of inventory and expenses
  • Negotiating and resolving price and contract issues
  • Coordinating efforts with sales reps and managers of other product lines
  • Developing ethical, long-term customer relationships
  • Recruiting and interviewing candidates to maintain a strong personnel 'bench'
  • Providing feedback of marketing intelligence to sales and marketing Management
