About The Position

The DSD District Sales Leader plays a critical role in supporting Independent Distributors by providing operational leadership, sales guidance, and training for daily route operations. This position is responsible for onboarding, coaching, and developing Independent Business Partners (IBPs) to ensure exceptional service, sales growth, and operational compliance across retail, wholesale, and food service channels.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring capabilities.
  • Ability to manage and influence without direct authority.
  • Effective decision-making in tactical and operational contexts.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and handheld route technology.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and develop actionable growth plans.
  • Physical ability to lift/carry up to 25 lbs. and push/pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel up to 90%.
  • Weekend availability is required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in customer service, DSD, or route operations preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.

  • Proven ability to deliver high-level customer service and resolve issues effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales targets through superior customer service, new account acquisition, and development of existing accounts.
  • Recruit, onboard, and train Route Sales IBPs on order management, handheld technology, and merchandising best practices.
  • Ensure execution of all CMA Fixtures, promotional display activities, and report store level activity and assist pre-sell big events.
  • Support execution of equipment inventories, display resets, and store reset events.
  • Collaborate with customers to support sales initiatives and drive revenue growth.
  • Guide customer development in ordering, merchandising, and display opportunities.
  • Implement procedures to improve productivity, quality, and operational effectiveness.
  • Enforce compliance with product and equipment accountability to minimize loss and waste.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, invoicing, ordering, and merchandising protocols.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement through coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.
  • Uphold food safety and internal audit standards to support “Superior Quality Always.”
  • Cover open IBP routes as needed until replacements are secured.
  • Perform special projects and additional duties as assigned by leadership.
