About The Position

The District Sales Executive (DSE) position is our core Sales role, as part of an integrated sales team providing exceptional service to a diverse client base. The DSE is responsible for collaborating with an experienced Management team in the development of client specific solutions while integrating leading edge technologies, which will add value throughout the supply chain. Building and maintaining positive internal and customer business relationships is critical to the DSE’s success. The DSE orchestrates involvement of multiple people in our Sales process, so that new customer revenue is consistently secured for our district office and Expeditors network. The focus of the DSE is local B & C sized companies, as defined by our Sales program. A Senior DSE may pursue larger sized companies when directed by the District Sales Manager.

Requirements

  • A University Degree or recognized professional qualification as a university equivalent is required.
  • Oral and written proficiency in the English language
  • Strong problem solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work productively both individually and in a team environment
  • Self-motivated with ability to work in a fast paced and constantly changing environment
  • Comfortable with regular data entry on a laptop computer
  • The ability to meet with customers off-site on a regular basis
  • The District Sales Executive role is based on interaction with employees at an Expeditors district office, including but not limited to participation in the weekly Sales meeting. The ability to be present at the district office during standard working hours must be maintained.
  • An Expeditors District Sales Executive is expected to visit company contacts at their offices. The ability to either drive to or to be driven to the customer’s locations must be maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an assigned territory and demonstrate extensive knowledge of potential customers and competitors in this area
  • Assess assigned territory for industry trends and communicate them to the District Sales Manager
  • Build and then maintain a good pipeline of companies
  • Research and qualify sales leads
  • Visit target companies regularly, while maintaining an acceptable number of total visits.
  • Written pre-call planning is required
  • Complete Sales record keeping in our CRM system according to published time and completion standards
  • Orchestrate branch and regional Product, Service, Geo, and Knowledge Management resources to engage Target company contacts. Provide oral and written updates and insight as necessary for collaboration.
