About The Position

Eaton Corporation's Electrical Sector is seeking a District Sales Director covering Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Iowa. Reporting to the Vice President Sales, Central Region you will lead all sales activities to achieve performance goals in accordance with marketing and sales plans. You will have an opportunity to direct a team of 30+ members, through 7 direct reports across the Heartland district with direct ownership of a $200M revenue business. You will lead, mentor, and develop the team championing their success in customer relationship management while achieving market gains and supporting strategic initiatives throughout the district.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution/MBA Preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical sales with a focus in power distribution.
  • 5+ years of experience in direct sales leadership in a comparable size/scope role.
  • Knowledge of electrical products and distribution channels.
  • Strategic planning and profit planning experience.
  • Experience assessing, selecting, developing, motivating, and energizing a diverse team in sales planning, negotiation, and customer pursuit.
  • Record of accomplishment in setting aggressive sales plans and achieving ambitious targets.
  • Ability to influence without authority, in a matrix environment.
  • Ability to travel 50% throughout the district.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Establish new and build upon existing relationships with key customers and distributors to enhance sales volume and customer service.
  • Identify, analyze, select, and continuously improve the districts various channels to market.
  • Recruit, hire, develop, and advance organizational capabilities of the sales team.
  • Plan, direct and drive sales resources to ensure account coverage.
  • Develop expert knowledge in competitive products, tactics, strategy, pricing, and market position.
  • Create strategic sales plans and implement product line initiatives and launches.
  • Synthesize information and leverage data-driven arguments to make and guide informed decisions.
  • Identify existing and future growth market opportunities to maximize top-line and market share position.
