About The Position

The District Safety Manager will lead and oversee safety programs across multiple construction sites within a designated district. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations, promoting a culture of safety, and reducing risk through training, inspections, and incident investigations. This role proactively integrates safety into planning, field execution, and leadership decision-making across the district. The ideal candidate has a strong background in construction safety and a passion for protecting people and property.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in construction safety, with multi-site or regional oversight preferred.

  • Experience with commercial or industrial construction projects.
  • Familiarity with safety technologies such as digital safety tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety best practices.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office.
  • OSHA 30 certification required; CHST, CSP, or other safety certifications preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills preferred to effectively support training, field engagement, and safety communication across diverse teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor safety programs and procedures across all district job sites.
  • Conduct regular site safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, local, state, and federal safety regulations.
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses; recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate, deliver, and document safety trainings and orientations for employees and subcontractors.
  • Maintain safety documentation, including reports, logs, and compliance records.
  • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to promote safe work practices.
  • Track and analyze safety performance metrics to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Serve as the district’s point of contact for all safety-related matters.
  • Conduct and support job hazard analyses and pre-task planning.
  • Promote and track near-miss reporting and corrective actions.
  • All other duties as assigned.
