About The Position

The Cannon Falls School District is seeking a Full-Time Paraprofessional to assist and collaborate with teachers, administrators, and school staff in providing a high-quality instructional program that supports student learning and academic achievement in an inclusive educational environment. Your Role Will Include: Support classroom instruction by working with individual students and small groups to reinforce learning activities and skills introduced by licensed teachers. Assist students with diverse learning needs, including students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and English learners, to support academic progress. Promote inclusive instructional practices by supporting students in integrated learning environments as determined by the IEP team. Collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and school staff to support instructional goals and student learning outcomes. Communicate clearly, positively, and respectfully with students and educational team members to support learning and engagement. Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate ethical behavior related to student information and educational practices. Participate in professional learning and staff development activities aligned with school and district instructional goals.

Requirements

  • Two years of college coursework or the ability to pass the ParaPro Assessment within one year of hire.
  • Occasional travel between school buildings or between schools and district offices may be required.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively and professionally with students, staff, and families.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse population while maintaining confidentiality, ethical standards, and professionalism.
  • Basic math and computer skills required to support instructional activities and classroom tasks.
  • Ability to perform assigned duties in a school environment, including standing, sitting, walking, working outdoors, and providing physical assistance to students as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working with children with special needs is preferred.
