About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a District Operations Supervisor. The District Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing the day-to-day field service business and personnel. In addition, this position will support the regional sales force in penetrating the regional markets through control of price and with an emphasis on value and service to the customer. Eaton has the largest and most experienced team of field services representatives in the industry. This team brings extensive skills and experiences to field service engineering. Active participation in recognized technical societies such as NFPA and IEEE and collaboration with a variety of utilities and industries ensures that our representatives are knowledgeable about today’s cutting-edge technology and engineering techniques. We assist customers at every stage of the power system: offering start-up and commissioning of equipment, performing planned maintenance, monitoring performance, diagnosing system problems remotely, as well as responding to emergencies on a 24/7 basis, 365 days a year. Our support services help businesses make the most of their existing electrical equipment by optimizing performance and extending the life of existing facilities. Eaton’s Engineering Service & Systems division is hiring a District Operations Supervisor to lead our field services engineering team in Maine. This position will be based out of our Lewiston site and is subject to 25% travel.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent or higher
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a service, sales or engineering role within the electrical industry
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience leading a service or engineering unit
  • Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license
  • Knowledge of power distribution, control products; as well as field service practices and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Act as a sales and marketing agent in conjunction with sales and operations management to ensure top-line sales and bottom-line profit objectives are met.
  • Develop and manage profit plan and monthly forecasts with accuracy so that the operation meets these numbers on a daily, monthly, and yearly basis.
  • Responsible for budgeting and procurement of capital equipment for the territory, efficient execution of sales quotes, cost control, leveraging subcontractors, inventory management, managing receivables, and turn of backlog and projects.
  • Assure an effective and skilled staff through recruiting, assessment of talent (find gaps and follow action plans to fill gaps), training & development, goal setting, communications, performance appraisal, and conformance to applicable company policies and standards
  • Assure the safety of employees who work in low, medium, and high voltage work environments. Assures strict compliance with safety policies, develops and deploys safety programs, assures safety equipment resources are available and properly tested, provides direction for proper disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
  • Effectively manages a team of diverse and dispersed field-based workforce throughout assigned territory. Demonstrates good corporate citizenship. Assures the security and effective allocation of company resources and assets.
