The District Manager position at Blarney Castle Oil Co. is a full-time, exempt role responsible for overseeing convenience store locations from St. Ignace to Indian River, Michigan. This position is crucial for ensuring effective management and profitability of stores within the assigned district. The District Manager will direct and oversee all area store personnel to achieve performance objectives, requiring a continuous visible presence within the stores. Blarney Castle Oil Co. is a family-owned business that has been a part of Michigan since 1933, with a focus on building great customer experiences.

  • Establish financial goals for each store and monitor operating reports to ensure targets are met.
  • Conduct regular audits of each store and work with Store Managers to improve operations.
  • Mentor Store Managers and monitor manager and employee performance in each store.
  • Identify new business opportunities in the assigned region and prepare analyses and recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with cash handling, sales of restricted products, and other operational standards.
  • Maximize store sales by directing and assisting Store Managers and ensuring customer service standards are maintained.
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reports and analyze report details to identify trends or opportunities.
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment through enforcement of safety and security practices.
  • Conduct regular store inspections, audits, and surveys to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or progress toward a relevant degree combined with management experience.
  • Five years of progressively responsible management experience in a retail environment.
  • Strong leadership skills and well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills and familiarity with compliance standards in the industry.
  • Computer literacy and knowledge of store operational and financial data systems.
  • Ability to travel between store locations and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Certification as a Class C Operator of Underground Storage Tanks needs to be obtained.
  • Experience in the convenience store or retail industry.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to interpret various reports.
