About The Position

The District Manager leads the operations and performance of 10–18 retail mattress stores within an assigned district. This role focuses on inspiring and supporting diverse teams, delivering exceptional customer experience, and achieving sustainable business growth. The District Manager collaborates closely with Store Managers and sales teams to create a positive, inclusive, and high-performing culture aligned with company values and goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; Associate degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 3-5 years of multi-unit retail management, ideally in mattress, furniture or home furnishings.
  • Proven track record in driving sales, operational excellence and customer satisfaction across multiple locations.
  • Skilled in leading diverse teams, with a strong commitment to DEI in hiring and development.
  • High ethical standards and sound judgment in decision-making and conflict resolution.
  • Proficient in POS systems, CRM platforms, workforce management tools and Microsoft Office.
  • Reliable transportation and flexibility to travel throughout the assigned region.
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive and respectful workplace where everyone can succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, mentor, and develop Store Managers and sales associates in partnership with the Vice President of Sales.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive work environment that values teamwork, respect, and professional growth.
  • Conduct regular store visits to provide coaching, celebrate achievements, and strengthen team engagement.
  • Support Store Managers in achieving district sales goals through collaborative planning and effective execution.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance sales strategies, improve conversion rates, and increase average transactions.
  • Promote customer-centered selling that builds trust and long-term relationships.
  • Oversee store operations to ensure alignment with company policies, procedures, and brand standards.
  • Conduct store audits for inventory accuracy, cash handling, and merchandising consistency.
  • Ensure stores provide a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment for customers and employees.
  • Support stores in resolving escalated customer issues with empathy, professionalism, and care.
  • Partner with company leadership on new store openings, including staffing, setup, and training.
  • Coordinate vendor training and visits to enhance team knowledge of products and promotions.
  • Prepare and review sales and operational reports for senior leadership.
  • Ensure scheduling, compliance, and timekeeping accuracy across all stores.
  • Lead inclusive, collaborative district meetings to share updates, best practices, and celebrate success.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new sales programs, operational systems, and process improvements.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Vice President of Sales.

Benefits

  • We offer a competitive salary with a base pay, plus monthly bonuses, and KPI incentives, ranging from $130,000 to $150,000.
