About The Position

The position involves providing information to store management by recapping promotional activity and reporting business opportunities, results, trends, and competitive information. The role includes managing controllable costs by educating managers on procedures for controlling merchandise variation, managing salaries, overtime, cash, repair, and maintenance costs. Collaboration with the Marketing team is essential to ensure promotions and new product introductions are fully implemented. The position also requires providing feedback to category managers regarding stock issues and partnering with vendors to ensure product availability. Timely execution of monthly promotions and ensuring vendor performance and behavior is professional are key responsibilities. The role ensures store operations are profitable by managing cash and merchandise variation, salaries, and other controllable expense lines on the P&L. Compliance with requirements is enforced by adhering to policies and procedures, and government regulations, while also advising management of needed actions. The position protects employees, customers, and company assets by maintaining a safe and secure working environment, enforcing safety practices, and providing safety communication and training. Achieving financial objectives involves forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions. Leadership and direction are provided to store managers, including assistance in recruiting, selection, and orientation processes, as well as employee development and training programs. The role also includes establishing job expectations, providing coaching for issue resolution, administering counseling notices, and initiating corrective actions. The position adheres to the Company Operating Policy of Legal, Ethical, and Moral practices and enhances professional and technical knowledge through educational workshops and professional publications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of retail business experience or more preferred, including a minimum of 2 years of management responsibility.
  • Experience with MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and good communication skills.
  • Self-directed, self-motivated, and customer service oriented.
  • Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) in English.
  • Ability to supervise and train Store Managers in the use of store equipment, tools, and materials.
  • A current valid driver's license is required to operate a company vehicle.
