About The Position

The District Manager I is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a single site or multiple sites within the organization. This role involves overseeing performance metrics, productivity, and cost management processes, as well as ensuring compliance with safety standards. The District Manager will also be responsible for P&L management and will have direct reports including Route Managers and District Operations Managers.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree or High School Diploma/GED with 2 years of relevant work experience.
• 2 years of experience in a role with supervisory and/or P&L responsibility.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in operations, customer service, community relations, health and safety, financial and human resource functions.
• Experience implementing safety (OSHA) programs and equipment specifications.
• Experience preparing and managing budgets.
• Experience resolving labor relations issues.

Responsibilities

• Manage the District's day-to-day operations and provide daily support to drivers.
• Ensure safety, service, and savings in operations.
• Conduct thorough root cause investigations for all injuries and incidents, providing coaching and retraining as necessary.
• Oversee department personnel needs including selection, coaching, disciplining, and training of employees.
• Evaluate employee performance and manage termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.
• Formulate short-term and long-term goals and action plans in conjunction with senior management.
• Participate in regular P&L reviews to ensure budgets are met and develop programs for optimal equipment utilization and cost management.
• Interact with local agencies to ensure customer satisfaction and negotiate contracts.
