About The Position

Responsible for dissemination of department correspondence, necessary department supplies, and completion of payroll submission for Supervisor and Assistant Supervisor. Responsible to generate requisitions for all food service repairs, work orders and delivery slips, following up until resolution. Identify, assess and communicate all food service equipment and product needs. Maintain and update all maintenance and inspection records on food service equipment reporting any issues and concerns to the Supervisor for remediation. Identify vendors for food service products and equipment, making recommendation, as appropriate. Generate all department based purchase orders and related invoices monitoring allocations against department budget allocations. Review and submit all bills for payment, including the follow-up of centralized catering service requests, maintaining proper order and accounting at all times. Assist in the maintenance of the department budget, including making budget modifications between accounts ensuring proper order and accounting. Coordinate centralized catering efforts for District events and meetings, as well as all off-site schools/facilities affiliated with Warren City Schools, including the collection and organization of catering orders, responsible for scheduling set up/take down, processing and follow-up on completion of catering services rendered, and the tracking and collection of invoice payment. Update and keep current prices of items to be purchased for catering for use in the billing process. Maintain current inventory of all centralized catering supplies, food and non-food items, providing availability when needed. Communicate and distribute all menus, serving guides and related correspondence to all school buildings, staff, off-site schools/facilities serviced by Warren City Schools' food service, and stakeholders, as appropriate. Assist Supervisor with the coordination and communication of the Summer Feeding Programs affiliated with Warren City Schools, as well as off-site programs to all stakeholders, as needed, including but not limited to the collection of daily participation and review/distribution of the Summer Feeding Menus, program dates and locations. Support in the coordination between the daily operations of the department and the building food service managers. Facilitate on-site inventory review twice each month at the Warehouse, making and communicating changes as needed. Assist in the coordination of food service staffing and daily food service department operations in the absence of the Supervisor/Assistant Supervisor, as needed. Abide by the rules, regulations, policies and procedures of The Warren City School District Board of Education. Perform other duties as may be directed by the Executive Director of Business Operations, Supervisor and Assistant Supervisor or his/her designee.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of and ability to demonstrate basic business-related skills.
  • Computer literate with ability to successfully work with all District operating systems, including but not limited to various Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel and Publisher; as well as the District inventory and purchasing system.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks in order to effectively work within timeline.
  • Ability to perform duties requiring strictest confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cooperatively with other personnel.
  • Willing to cross-train with other positions.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor Degree, Associate degree or academic hours completed beyond high school.
  • Experience gained in the building management operations of Food Service.
  • Experience working with the District Food Service Point of Sale and Inventory System.
