About The Position

SAGE Dining Services® is seeking a district manager who has experience in all areas of multi-venue food service management and especially campus dining for venues in the Pacific Northwest and surrounding areas. The best candidate has experience supervising multiple locations in the contract food service industry. Experience in the academic arena is preferred. The candidate will have at least ten years of high quality catering, food service, budget preparation, and food service management experience for multiple locations. As a district manager, you will be providing overall development, direction and control to SAGE locations. Your mission encompasses not only meeting the operational and financial goals of the locations, but also providing leadership, motivation and direction to the food service directors and executive chefs in your district. The district manager is responsible for preserving client relationships and focusing on client and customer service. You will manage a combination of all-inclusive and retail accounts. You will ensure that all SAGE programs are followed while our individual client partnership needs are met and that our quality of food and customer service is second to none. Requirements

  • Minimum ten years prior food management experience, preferably as a District Manager, or in an academic setting.
  • Strong leadership abilities.
  • Substantial culinary knowledge of trends, techniques, and processes.
  • Proven ability to hire, train, evaluate and lead teams.
  • High energy, positive attitude, and superior ethics.
  • Planning and organizational proficiency.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
  • Fluency in sanitation and safety standards, including HACCP.
  • Current ServSafe® certification.
  • Business management experience, including managing retail operations.

Responsibilities

  • Building strong working relationships with a broad range of clients/stakeholders at every venue.
  • Making sure that all accounts are operating within budget.
  • Ensuring that venues achieve operational excellence at every meal, every day.
  • Enforcing all safety standards and protocols are followed.
  • Monitoring the menu writing process to assure compliance with SAGE standards.
  • Hiring a great team for every venue, teaching, motivating, and constructively reviewing the workforce, making staffing changes as necessary to maintain excellence.
  • Keeping the SAGE officers and senior managers fully apprised of issues in your district.
  • Writing clear and achievable budgets, setting reasonable expectations for both clients and managers.
  • Guaranteeing that client expectations are more than met and exceeded through impeccable organization and flawless execution.
