About The Position

The following position is an opening in the Elgin School District for the 2026-2027 School Year: Position: District Literacy Coach K-12 Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree, Preferred Masters Degree in Reading or Literacy Proper Certification/Licensure Significant Literacy Teaching Experience Preferred Certified Dyslexia Interventionist/Structured Literacy Training BCI/FBI Clearance Essential Functions: Provide job-embedded coaching K-12 teachers, including classroom observations, co-teaching, modeling lessons, and feedback cycles. Teach literacy courses or intervention groups, modeling evidence-based instructional practices and high-impact strategies, across grade levels. Lead professional development aligned to district literacy goals, curriculum standards, and student achievement data. Analyze district and school-level literacy data to guide instructional improvement, intervention planning, and MTSS implementation. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
