About The Position

The District Leader is directly accountable and responsible for the direction, coordination, supervision, and profitability of all activities for a specific office location. The District Leader will plan, lead, and direct the growth of the district and execute other assigned duties at the President’s and Vice Presidents’ direction. The District Leader is ultimately responsible for the delivery of quality systems and service to ensure customer satisfaction and communicates all District financial data, future business growth opportunities, and general economic outlook to the company President. The District Leader administers International Fire Protection policies, while focusing on the staffing growth and development of employees within the district while maintaining a positive Attitude.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in business, construction management, engineering, or related discipline is desirable. Industry certifications are a plus.
  • Extensive experience in construction management, customer service, sales, with a proven track record of successfully managing large and complex projects.
  • Proven ability and track record of performing work in a timely manner and meeting deadlines.
  • Possess good communication skills and be detail oriented.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Must have a valid driver license.
  • Must pass a drug screen test and a background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, construction management, engineering, or related discipline is desirable.
  • Industry certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize job descriptions for your team to include essential duties and responsibilities, core competencies, and expectations.
  • Reinforce the onboarding system that sets every new hire up for success.
  • Provide intentional training and development of your people.
  • Create a culture of accountability, setting clear expectations for your team.
  • Performance reviews, at least annually.
  • Initiate personnel actions including hiring, promotions, transfers, terminations, and disciplinary measures.
  • Develop and maintain a succession plan for all key positions in the district.
  • Openly provide recognition or rewards for results or behaviors as deserving.
  • Intentionally evaluate current and future customers, subcontractors and vendors – Are they a good fit with IFP?
  • Participate in local trade group/association functions.
  • Develop a long-range strategic business plan that is aligned with the overall IFP plan, which will include revenue and profit projections.
  • Create team involvement in order to gain new ideas and buy-in from team members.
  • Consider long-range economic trends and industry prospects for future growth in overall sales, market share, acquisitions, and expansion into new market areas.
  • Estimate future needs for capital, buildings, equipment, and personnel.
  • Clearly communicate District Strategic Plan to your entire team.
  • Identify, plan, and develop methods to obtain greater efficiency and improved business processes continually.
  • Create a culture where everyone is empowered and committed to prioritizing safety. Leaders should consistently show that safety is a priority through their actions and decisions.
