The Office of the District Attorney, Prosecutorial District 10, seeks a qualified candidate to provide legal support services to the prosecutors in the Domestic Violence Unit of Wake County office. We are seeking a driven, passionate, and empathetic person to assist Victims of Domestic Violence and other sensitive offenses. As a Legal Assistant in the Domestic Violence Unit, you will play a vital role in supporting prosecutors and assisting victims and witnesses through the legal process in Wake County, Prosecutorial District 10. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Key Responsibilities Support and Advocacy for Victims and Witnesses Assist victims and witnesses in understanding and navigating the court process. Provide emotional support and guidance to ensure victims feel empowered and prepared for court appearances. Connect victims with resources such as counseling and other necessary services. Serve as a point of contact for victims and witnesses, maintaining professionalism and empathy during emotionally charged situations. Legal Support for Prosecution Draft and prepare correspondence, legal documents, and reports with accuracy and attention to detail. Organize and maintain case files, including gathering essential information and conducting legal research. Schedule and coordinate court appearances, meetings, and victim services. Assist prosecutors with administrative tasks and trial preparation as needed. Collaboration and Communication Build and maintain strong working relationships with law enforcement, community organizations, and other agencies to ensure seamless support for victims and witnesses. Handle inquiries from victims, witnesses, and the public with professionalism and tact. Communicate effectively with prosecutors and other team members to facilitate case progress.
