SALARY RANGE: $38,574.00 - $63,700.00 The Conference of District Attorneys, Wake County, seeks a qualified candidate to provide legal support services to our Financial Crimes Prosecution team. Duties include but are not limited to the following: working with financial crime cases; answering phones; assisting the public; typing correspondence; preparing legal documents; preparing files; assisting victims and witnesses to understand and prepare for court; gathering information to assist in the prosecution of cases; and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of: court system and procedures; legal terminology; and community resources to refer victims and witnesses.
  • Skill in: Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; accurately typing 35-40 wpm; and answering a multi-line telephone system.
  • Ability to: interview to elicit information from victims and witnesses to assure appropriate services; coordinate and schedule the daily operations of the victim and witness program; manage the court appearances of victims and witnesses to ensure their presence in the courtroom when needed; communicate orally and in writing with persons of diverse backgrounds; establish and maintain effective working relationships with law enforcement officers, officials of related agencies and the general public; and calmly handle stressful situations.
  • Graduation from high school, or and equivalency certificate, and two years of legal/secretarial experience.
