About The Position

You will be joining our commercial team, where we will add a Distributor Account Manager to drive the sales plan while building strong business relationships with key decision makers. Understanding and identifying each distributor’s specific needs while communicating the value that Waldom can provide. This position is remote with high desirability in Chicago, Dallas, or Phoenix. However, the ideal candidate would trump locale.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Industry experience preferably interfacing with distribution management with top electronic component distributors.
  • 3 years of proven experience as a Distributor Account Manager for an electronic component supplier.
  • Demonstrated 3-year record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets and revenue goals.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills, with the ability to drive mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and credibility with key stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to gather and interpret market data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

  • Account Management: Serve as the main point of contact for key distribution customers, understanding their business needs, objectives, and challenges. Build strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers within each account.
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve sales targets and growth objectives for each account. Maximize integration of all common suppliers. Develop plan to train distribution key sales, quoting & asset personnel to utilize Waldom inventory.
  • Business Development: Promote excess programs to decision-makers of Waldom SM&E (SLOW MOVING AND EXCESS) programs. Align and map common suppliers to maximize inventory integration. Educate all levels of distributor’s organization (sales, quoting, asset, product mgt, finance) on all aspects of the Waldom value proposition.
  • Forecasting and Reporting: Monitor sales performance on account activities, revenue, inventory, and market trends. Provide activity forecasts on sales programs and SM&E inventory opportunities. Forecast sales and align mutual expectations with distributor executive team.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal cross-functional teams, including analysts, marketing, purchasing, customer service, inventory mgt, stock recovery team to ensure seamless delivery products and business analytics to assist our distributor customers.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Proactively address customer concerns and resolve any issues or challenges that may arise. Ensure an elevated level of customer satisfaction by providing exceptional service and support.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay up to date with distributor re-organizations, industry trends, supplier acumen, and market dynamics. Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network and build industry relationships.
  • Travel Expectation: You will travel regularly to meet with customers—at least once per quarter—and participate in key trade shows, industry events, and internal sales meetings. At times, travel demands may rise to approximately 50% of your work week, depending on business needs and customer engagement priorities.
