GEMCO Medical, a division of GEMCORE, is a well-established and growing healthcare distribution company shipping over 6,000 packages a day with detailed accuracy, has an opening for a Distribution Supervisor. The Distribution Supervisor's main responsibility will be to manage the daily activities within our distribution center of a team of Warehouse Associates that pick, pack, and ship healthcare products and medical supplies. The Distribution Supervisor will also hold a key position in welcoming new employees and ensuring all Associates are engaged within the company culture. We offer strong growth potential. Our Distribution Center is a clean and comfortable environment: not dusty, dark, or dirty. Fully air conditioned in the summer and heated in the winter. No protective clothing required. Dress code is comfortable clothing (sneakers, t-shirts, jeans, etc. all acceptable) Second shift opportunity with work schedule being Monday-Friday from 12:15pm-9:00pm Medical/dental/vision insurances available for full-time employees. Position is located in Hudson, OH.

Requirements

  • Ability to give clear direction and provide effective training.
  • Coach and motivate direct reports to achieve optimal productivity and create highly functioning teams.
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in a distribution environment, at least 2 years supervisory experience required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in math, computer software, and warehouse management systems.
  • Ability to lift at minimum 50 pounds
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Hazardous Materials and Protected freight shipping requirements a plus.
  • Knowledge of OSHA compliance requirements helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all shipping and receiving activities using best practices and established standards.
  • Manage Warehouse Associate productivity across various cross-functional teams
  • Recommend process improvements and more efficient methods
  • Establish standards and procedures.
  • Assist and become knowledgeable with inventory control.
  • Determine “best-way” transportation of all packages and truckload shipments.
  • Help maintain equipment to be fully functional and safe in its operation.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to all department personnel.
  • Train and acclimate new hires on warehouse procedures and methods.
