The Distribution Supervisor is a key position within Warehouse Operations, with the responsibility to ensure the timely picking and distribution of customer sales orders while maintaining appropriate priority to schedule. This role has responsibility for the leadership of all related training, staff, schedules, and equipment for the Distribution portion of Warehouse Operations. This role is required to provide staffing supervision, scheduling, assure procedural compliance, safety, and disciplinary actions as required and remain compliant with regulations and assure cost effective and timely deliveries. The role works collaboratively with key business partners to ensure effective practices are implemented and clearly documented. Interacting with Customer Care, Commercial, Sales, Finance, Planning, and Operations to identify and meet business requirements. The role also works closely with other global partners to ensure end-to-end supply chain execution and consistency in approach. Job Summary: Responsible for all aspects of Team Supervision including staff utilization, timekeeping, conflict management, and staff hiring, and disciplinary actions as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 8 years of hands-on warehouse experience in a combination of positions related to warehouse management, inventory management, and operations; minimum 2 years in related leadership position(s).
  • Experience leading staff in a high volume “Just in time” environment.
  • Proficient using and training Microsoft office suite, ERP, and other automation software and programs such as MES, TMS in a warehouse management environment.
  • Ability and willingness to enforce procedural and policy compliance.

  • Healthcare, medical device or other manufacturing in a regulated environment experience highly preferred.
  • Results driven, innovative, creative, and action-oriented; able to align and energize teams behind common objectives in both a reporting and a non-reporting structure.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain staffing, schedules, and certifications of all distribution employees within report.
  • Manage maintenance and preventative maintenance programs for all related equipment and fixtures.
  • Work with the team to assure compliance with all related policies and procedures while driving best practice behavior and accountability as required.
  • Own team execution of policies, programs, and objectives to ensure company’s success and a superior customer experience in all aspects of distribution.
  • Schedule live loading and drop loading with Traffic team and fleet as required.
  • Prioritize and react timely to changes in strategy, business needs, or incidents assuring level leadership of all aspects of report.
  • Own and assure all spaces within report have appropriate storage solutions, are well maintained, and meet all OSHA regulations including but not limited to signage, PPE, and safe passage.
  • Plan and maintain appropriate business continuity plans as identified or assigned.
  • Create, maintain and practice team development using empowerment, teaching to apply the latest principles, concepts, practices and standards by using a variety of on-going projects, assignments, rewards, and recognition
  • Leverage lean-sigma, standard work and visual controls to standardize best practices within the warehouse and distribution center driving pride of ownership.
  • Own replenishment strategies for all areas of report including direct ship lines for OEM customers.
  • Own related root cause analysis for problem reconciliation and involve all stakeholders in process.
  • Support merger and acquisition (M&A) integration and post M&A value creation by assisting to evaluate and align practices as appropriate.
