About The Position

This position is responsible for providing analysis and solution of complex business process and technical problems with a focus on improving operational effectiveness and excellence. The Distribution Reliability Analyst I will prepare and deliver well-constructed business insights to management, lead teams, and enhance other's understanding of business processes and systems. The ideal candidate is a well-organized self-starter with a passion to optimize the decision-making process through rigorous utilization of data. Position may be filled at the Distribution Reliability Analyst I, II, or Senior level based on the successful candidate’s background, education, and experience. Additional responsibilities may be included for higher levels of the role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Data Science, Accounting, Computer Science, or similar degree
  • Proficient in Microsoft Power BI, SQL, or SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
  • Must have well developed priority-planning skills in order to manage competing tasks.
  • Experience in SharePoint and Power Pivot.

  • Good business acumen characterized by the ability to analyze complex information, isolate key issues, and demonstrate logical thought and decision-making.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to accurately and effectively work under strict time constraints.
  • Ability to work effectively in both independent and team settings.
  • Knowledgeable of LKE work management, outage management, and financial management systems.
  • Proficient in additional database and analysis software such as Microsoft Power BI, SharePoint, R, Python, Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), or SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
  • Understanding of statistical concepts used to evaluate risk and uncertainty.
  • Self-motivated and able to work productively with minimal supervision.
  • Good communication and technical writing skills.
  • Utility experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and analyze distribution data from various systems to support Distribution Operations performance to improve customer experience and operational efficiency.
  • Design, build, integrate, and redesign existing reports for maximum usability. Fulfill requests for new dashboards and reports.
  • Extract and deliver useful statistics and insight from business data to drive and support operational improvements and business strategies.
  • Proactively identify and implement solutions and/or strategies that will help the business better achieve its short and long-term business objectives.
  • Prepare complex financial models and forecasting using advanced modeling techniques.
  • Responsible for developing high level analyses, recommending courses of action based on data, and presenting to Senior Management.
  • Work with various internal business groups to address critical issues and resolve major problems related to data integrity. Assist with root cause analysis and provide recommendations to mitigate recurrence of the problem.
  • Develop and research methods for measuring various areas of business performance and compare against trends and best practices.
  • Review, identify, analyze, and create detailed documentation of business process and supporting systems.
  • May lead special projects or teams.
  • Participate in and perform benchmarking studies and analysis related to reliability performance.
  • Continuously evaluate new data analytics technologies, best practices, languages, and tools.
  • Evaluate distribution asset performance by integrating multiple data sources to support capital investment planning.
  • Coordinate the gathering, analyzing, and compiling of information used to document business and operational metrics. Act as a business resource for IT related projects and initiatives.
  • Physical presence in the office/on-site to engage in face-to-face interaction and coordination of work among direct reports and co-workers.
  • Assist in storm and emergency roles as assigned to support emergency operations.
