  • Exerts 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Frequently reaches (extending hands and arms in any direction), and handles (seizing, holding, grasping, turning or working with hands).
  • Frequently stoops (bending the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist).

Responsibilities

  • Works together with departmental and healthcare teams to complete assignments.
  • Maintains a clean and comfortable environment for patients and visitors.
  • Removes or arranges for removal of safety hazards from environment immediately to prevent potential safety hazards from occurring.
  • Prioritizes and reprioritizes work based on the changing needs of the customers.
  • Keeps equipment in clean and working condition.
  • Maintains materials and supplies to do job.
  • Collects patient charge cards from various locations within the hospital.
  • Reviews patient charge cards and inputs them into the Meditech Computer System.
  • Delivers stock via cart to the correct department.
  • Ensures that the carts carrying stock are never left unattended and that stock is placed in the proper location in departments.
  • Utilizes a few minutes each day during the delivery process to ensure the supply rooms are neat and organized.
  • Improves and maintains the appearance of the storeroom so that the room is orderly and safe.
  • Delivers promptly emergency stock as needed.
  • Delivers IV Solutions including those with Potassium and Kits and Trays with medications such as Lidocaine to the appropriate locations in patient care departments.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of products to minimize the chance of incorrect deliveries being made, resulting in re-work.
  • Maintains par levels of stock on the patient care units.
  • Recommends adjustments to par levels and orders placed, based on the usage of stock.
  • References packing lists and other receiving documents to confirm the accuracy of shipments, as requested by the department manager or supervisor.
  • Prepares accurate labels to packages being shipped as requested by the department manager or supervisor.
  • Ensures items and equipment is packaged properly for safe shipping as requested by the department manager or supervisor.
  • Delivers equipment and supplies using the hand cart or truck
  • Delivers overnight and rush orders immediately.
  • Restocks shelves and rotates inventory to ensure first in first out and that products do not expire, as well as, reports all expired goods to the supervisor.
