About The Position
The position involves leading a team of three or more workers to accomplish trades and labor work, ensuring that all workers have enough tasks to complete. The role includes checking work in progress and completed work for compliance, answering workers' questions regarding procedures, policies, and written instructions. Additionally, the incumbent provides information to the supervisor on the status and progress of work. Non-lead duties include stock selection, stow, location survey, physical inventory, material handling, material examining and identifying, packing, and operating Material Handling Equipment (MHE). The position also involves receiving, unloading, and processing incoming shipments, checking accompanying documentation against container or packing labels, and following established procedures in reporting discrepancies. The incumbent will pack and/or repack items using various packing materials and methods, assemble items for shipment, count items during inventories, and operate material handling equipment such as forklifts.
