About The Position

HESCO is seeking a Distribution Operations Manager to lead and strengthen the operational backbone of our electrical distribution business. This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of work across customer order support, purchasing, warehouse operations, and inventory management, while improving operational processes, accountability, and performance visibility. This is a hands-on leadership role within a distribution environment and is not a manufacturing or plant operations position. The Distribution Operations Manager will oversee the full operational lifecycle of customer orders—from quote support and purchasing through fulfillment and invoicing—ensuring accuracy, responsiveness, and alignment between customer service, warehouse execution, purchasing and sales functions. The ideal candidate brings strong distribution operations experience, comfort working with ERP-driven processes, and the ability to improve workflows, strengthen operational discipline, and support profitable growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in distribution or industrial operations.
  • Experience leading teams across customer service, warehouse, purchasing, or supply chain functions.
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (Infor SX.e / CloudSuite preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes, establish operational metrics, and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership across Account Support, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Inventory functions.
  • Strengthen coordination between sales, account support, purchasing, and warehouse operations to ensure efficient order execution.
  • Improve operational discipline and accountability through clear expectations, metrics, and process ownership.
  • Partner with leadership to support growth initiatives while maintaining strong operational performance.
  • Oversee the operational handling of customer quotes, order processing, invoicing, and issue resolution.
  • Ensure customer orders move efficiently from quote to fulfillment with high accuracy and responsiveness.
  • Establish service standards and workflows between Account Support, Sales, Purchasing, and Warehouse teams.
  • Monitor and improve operational metrics including order accuracy, response time, backlog, and customer issue resolution.
  • Oversee warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping.
  • Ensure safe and efficient product flow while maintaining high standards for order accuracy and on-time delivery.
  • Identify and remove operational bottlenecks that impact fulfillment performance.
  • Use ERP data to improve workflow efficiency and warehouse performance.
  • Lead purchasing activities to ensure product availability and supplier reliability.
  • Coordinate closely with Account Support and Sales to ensure timely fulfillment of customer commitments.
  • Maintain strong supplier relationships and monitor vendor performance.
  • Oversee inventory accuracy and availability across the distribution operation.
  • Monitor key performance indicators such as inventory turns, fill rate, order accuracy, and inventory investment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve inventory utilization and reduce operational inefficiencies.
  • Strengthen ERP utilization (Infor SX.e / CloudSuite) to improve reporting, operational visibility, and decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational workflows across departments.
  • Develop and maintain clear standard operating procedures (SOPs) to support operational consistency and scalability.
