This position is part of the Distribution Center, located in Romeoville, IL and will be on site. This role may require occasional weekend work and potential overtime, based on business needs. In this role, a typical day will look like:

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in direct supervisory or facilitation (also experience with cross-functional work groups)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics, distribution, and warehousing.
  • Knowledge of quality principles and tools (problem analysis, statistical tools, design of experiments, control charts, and other quality methodologies)
  • Servant Leadership mentality
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interface with a variety of people at various technical and management levels.
  • Good computer skills (work processing, spreadsheets, graphics, statistical tools, etc.)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing a plus
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Working knowledge of various distribution processes
  • Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management.
  • Experience with ERP / WMS Systems

Responsibilities

  • Process owner for warehousing, distribution, and transportation of Hach products through the North America Distribution Center.
  • Responsible for managing and finding solutions to issues in their areas.
  • Responsible for managing and mentoring of people leaders, professional staff, and/or production and distribution associates.
  • Drive process improvements to achieve PD goals for safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Provide input and recommendations for the identification and selection of improvement projects.
  • Participate in, facilitate, and/or train kaizen or improvement project teams.
  • Responsible for establishing and meeting project quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
  • Develop and implement effective means of communicating safety, quality, delivery and cost related metrics to Teams.
  • Interface effectively with other Managers to achieve overall goals using shared resources.
  • Complete performance and development reviews for direct report associates
  • Work with Design and Implementation teams on manufacturability, capability, reliability reviews
  • Manage labor availability to complete workload and work to enhance cross-training for increased labor flexibility.
  • Assist in data collection and analysis for new business opportunities.
  • Monitor departmental budgets and assist in defining annual operating and capital budgets. Has budgetary approval responsibility.
  • Maintain and support the Hach ISO9001and ISO14001-based quality system.
  • Assist in achieving Policy Deployment and Strategic Plan objectives and participate in monthly PD reviews.
  • Perform benchmarking studies as required.
  • Drive "best practices" in all areas of responsibility
  • Assist in the development of the strategic plan in support of area.
  • Create and lead PD at Gemba visual management process to support Level 3 PD objectives.
  • Define logistic requirements for suppliers.
  • Support key account and other special customer requests
