About The Position

The Americold Summer Internship Experience is a 12-week, full-time, paid internship designed for students to gain practical knowledge in Distribution Operations Warehouses. Interns will engage in various projects that enhance their understanding of the supply chain industry while collaborating with organizational leaders and peers. This internship aims to foster personal and professional growth, allowing interns to make meaningful contributions to the company.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled at an accredited college/university for an undergraduate or graduate degree in Engineering, Supply Chain/Logistics, Operations or related field.
• Prior intern and/or work experience internship.
• Demonstrated leadership in work and/or academics.
• Project management experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable interacting with all organizational levels.
• Excellent technical skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented, dynamic environment.
• Strong customer service orientation with a sense of urgency in meeting goals and deadlines.
• Ability to influence and think creatively and strategically.
• Detail-oriented with multi-tasking and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility to work hours based on business needs.
• Ability to commute to other facilities in the surrounding area.

Responsibilities

• Learn fundamentals of warehouse and distribution management in various areas including Dock and Front Office processes, Labor and transportation/labor matrix planning, Appointment scheduling, and Inventory Control.
• Assist in Process Engineering and Improvement, focusing on Labor Standards and Continuous Improvement.
• Coordinate and oversee warehouse activities as a Shift leader, directing employees in receiving, warehousing, and shipping of products.
• Collaborate with teams and managers to address work-related issues.
• Participate in safety training and ensure compliance with all Company policies and OSHA regulations.
• Engage in formal orientations/trainings and informal meetings with workforce members from various functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
