About The Position

At the Distribution Center, the team ensures a continuous flow of Starbucks products from suppliers to customers globally. As a distribution machine operator, the role involves operating system controls, making minor machine adjustments for various automation areas (such as gantry, ASRS, tote and carton shuttle, carton erectors, stretch wrappers), performing Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) on equipment, and clearing jams throughout the system.

Requirements

  • Operating manual and automated equipment (2 years)
  • Performing quality tests using analytical tools (1 year)
  • Regulated food manufacturing environment (1 year)
  • Mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot minor machine failures and make minor adjustments (1 year)
  • High school diploma/GED, US military service or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to understand written policies and guidelines, specifications and safety standards
  • Ability to work with a diverse team environment
  • Ability to work in accordance with safety, quality and sanitation standards, policies and procedures
  • Ability to repair minor mechanical issues on machines and systems
  • Experience conducting quality tests and analyzing data
  • Ability to train others and measure effectiveness
  • Basic math skills
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Mechanical knowledge of automated machines and tools
  • Ability to work in accordance with quality, safety, and sanitation standards, policies and guidelines
  • Ability to work variable shifts to support business needs
  • Familiarity with food safety regulatory requirements and global standards including Preventive Controls for Human Food (FDA Code of Federal Regulations) and the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). Experience with the GFSI certification schemes (i.e. BRC and/or or SQF).

Responsibilities

  • Operate system controls and make minor machine adjustments for various areas of automation as needed, including gantry, ASRS, tote and carton shuttle, carton erectors, stretch wrappers, etc.
  • Perform Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) on equipment.
  • Responsible for clearing jams throughout the system.
