About The Position

This position is responsible for the day-to-day engineering work activities in an assigned area. Responsibilities include service design, estimating, and coordinating construction for multiple overhead and underground residential, new business, industrial and other construction projects as needed. Candidate must provide superior customer service and be able to prepare and schedule construction of jobs to meet committed service dates. Other duties will include handling customer inquiries (voltage complaints, claims, etc.) and assisting with Distribution compliance and asset management programs. Candidate will also participate in the on-call rotation and must be available after business hours for local, out-of-town, and out-of-state trouble and storm restoration. Candidate must currently live within a reasonable, daily commuting distance to the selected area OR be willing to relocate to be within commuting distance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in the following Engineering disciplines from an ABET accredited program: Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Industrial or Chemical.
  • Candidates must currently hold their degree or obtain their degree by May 2026.
  • Understanding of basic engineering theories and principles.
  • Understanding of basic practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations and preparing and presenting recommendations.

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • Demonstrated good understanding of electric utility and facility design standards, specifications and requirements for electrical projects, and the ability to produce construction documents.

Responsibilities

  • Provides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems in the Distribution design area.
  • Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities.
  • Prepares thorough and accurate cost estimates, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
  • Conducts engineering and related studies.
  • Strives to continually improve job-related, engineering, technical and professional knowledge, skills and performance.
  • Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities.
  • Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Maintains accurate records and files.
  • Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally.
  • Process switching requests submitted to Distribution Control Center.
  • Must be available after hours as required to provide leadership and assist in emergency restoration.
