Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university is required
  • 3+ years of experience in power utility industry
  • Distribution design QAQC/review experience
  • Demonstrated ability or experience with Maximo, BOUD, SEDS, and Poleforeman
  • Ability to follow prescribed standards and procedures
  • Knowledge with Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to report to the Cary, NC, office on a daily basis

Responsibilities

  • Perform Distribution planning and design services for medium voltage (1kV to 35kV) overhead and underground power distribution systems
  • Perform scope analysis of work assignments and maintain schedule adherence to align with client priorities
  • Reviews and/or prepares engineering-quality drawings suitable for construction
  • Provide technical oversight to solve complex problems with minimal supervision
  • Review quality and accuracy of field notes and designs and work with stakeholders to resolve issues identified
  • Assist with pole loading analysis calculations and equipment sizing for residential and commercial projects
  • Perform site visits to inspect, measure and verify designs
  • Perform other duties as assigned
