Requirements
- Associates Degree in Engineering Technology or Drafting is preferred
- 2+ years of Distribution design experience is required
- Previous Duke Energy design experience is required
- Demonstrated ability or experience with Maximo, BOUD, SEDS, and Pole Foreman
- Katapult experience is a plus
- Ability to follow prescribed standards and procedures
- Strong knowledge with Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word and Excel
- Must have a valid Drivers License
- Report to the Cary, NC, office on a daily basis

Responsibilities
- Design and engineer medium voltage (1kV to 35kV) overhead and underground power distribution systems
- Review and/or prepare engineering-quality drawings suitable for construction, project estimates, and permitting documents
- Perform site visits to inspect, measure and verify designs
- Conduct pole loading analyses and determine appropriate equipment sizing for residential projects
- Assist with fielding work if needed
