This role involves planning efficient delivery and pick-up routes based on factors like trip length, freight requirements, and capacity. The coordinator estimates delivery times, records departure and return information, and monitors equipment utilization and productivity. Key duties include issuing keys, record sheets, and bills of lading to drivers, investigating overdue vehicles, and interfacing with customers and employees to resolve issues with loads or merchandise. The coordinator also handles customer complaints, maintains records of mileage, fuel, repairs, and expenses, and assigns helpers to drivers when needed. Additionally, the role requires operating a cash register and a forklift when necessary. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
