About The Position

Our goal is to showcase why Peet’s is the unique and special place it is - and give students like you an opportunity to learn about our culture, operations, decision making processes, and day-to-day business. The program will be primarily project-based work and day-to-day shadowing/mentorship. The Interns will fill their weeks shadowing core members of the team to learn how their department functions and supports Peet’s business while focusing efforts on completing their project. The day-to-day activities will vary depending on which department you will support. We anticipate offering a variety of engagement activities including, but not limited to: Roasting Plant Tour, Coffee Tasting, Tea 101, Career Coaching, and more. These engagement activities are set to occur every other week. The connections you make here will be connections for life – and help you transition to the working world after graduation. We look forward to hosting you at Peet’s! Based at our Distribution Center in Tracy, CA - we require all employees to work onsite 3 days per week. This is a part-time, paid internship at $25.00/hr and will require a ~30 hours/week commitment from June 8-August 7, 2026. What You Will Do: The Distribution Data Analyst Intern will directly contribute to projects that improve warehouse performance, accuracy, flow, and overall operational efficiency. You will analyze real production and WMS data, build tools for warehouse leaders, support problem solving, and drive continuous improvement across our Tracy Distribution Center. You will have the opportunity to: Work with SQL and the Warehouse Management System data to model performance and highlight issues Support capacity and labor planning Help improve slotting, zoning, and warehouse layout decisions Build dashboards, reports, and decision-making tools Support Snowflake integrations and data pipelines Partner with operations leaders to solve real warehouse problems This internship provides a combination of analytics, operations, and systems experience—ideal for students looking to build a career in supply chain analytics, operations engineering, or data science.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a degree in Data Analytics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Computer Science, Statistics, or related fields.
Strong analytical skills and experience with SQL and PowerBI (required).
Highly motivated, self-driven, and curious with the ability to solve problems and collaborate.
Strong communication and willingness to work on the warehouse floor to understand real operations.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with Snowflake, or WMS/Warehouse data is a plus.

Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Loss Elimination Identifying, analyzing, and prioritizing operational inefficiencies across safety, quality, productivity, service, cost, flow, and inventory accuracy.
Using SQL and WMS data to develop insights, dashboards, and performance visibility tools.
Performing root cause analysis and recommending corrective actions to eliminate losses.
Warehouse Systems & Data Modeling Extracting data from the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to model operational trends.
Creating or improving data connections/tools, including building API integrations with Snowflake.
Designing simple, user-friendly tools for supervisors and managers (e.g., calculators, trackers, performance scorecards).
Financial & Business Case Support Assisting in cost-benefit analyses, ROI calculations, and financial justification for operational changes or capital investments.
Supporting capital project execution by providing data, planning, and measurement support.
