About The Position

The Distribution Clerk position is located in Winchester, VA, within the D&T division. The role involves providing daily support to the distribution team to drive production performance in areas such as safety, quality, cost, productivity, and service objectives. The position requires working Monday to Friday from 6 PM to 2 PM.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Previous traffic control or backup experience preferred.
  • Logistics, warehouse, or other distribution experience preferred.
  • Must be a team player that leads by example.
  • Must be open to new process improvements/changes while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Must not be in any attendance steps while applying or holding a Traffic Control position.
  • Must not be in any disciplinary steps while applying for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Process outbound loads through SAP, including cutting lanes, canceling pick tickets, and deleting shipments.
  • Verify in PKMS and EBOL that loads are complete and ready to ship.
  • Work with warehouse lead to ensure Idock process errors are fixed in a timely manner.
  • Process PGI loads for invoicing and collaborate with inventory control to clean any post-shipping errors.
  • Manage driver traffic through communication with drivers and dispatch.
  • Find assigned loads, potentially using Google Translate as an assistant.
  • Request customer drivers to sign loads out of EBOL once shipment is made.
  • Coordinate live load appointments and arrival with console, as well as door placement.
  • Manage finished loads through filing systems.
  • Keep track of Grainger, export, and Uline through N drive.
  • Work with transportation manager to ensure all loads are picked up by the required date.
  • Contact carriers via email, fax, or phone to ensure notification.
  • Request add-ons for exports less than cube containers.
  • Research load investigations, missing BOLS, lost freight, and packing lists, and work with load builders for trouble tray and swing loads.
  • Re-send correct Essedant cross dock BOLS to each destination.
  • Assist visitors and deliveries as needed.
  • Route phone calls and aid security gate questions as needed.
  • Responsible for all night shift paperwork on weekends and Mondays (day shift only).
  • Cover opposite traffic clerk for vacation and cover CPU.
  • Work overtime on the last day of the month; if the last day is a Sunday, overtime is required on Saturday and Sunday.
  • Update Mega waves to ensure all loads come through.
