The receiving clerk will maintain the central supply storeroom by ensuring stock is put away correctly, delivering items to internal departments accurately, and tracking receipts of product on purchase orders. This role involves hauling incoming freight from the dock into the receiving area to unbox, put away, and deliver to the designated end user. The receiving clerk will oversee all freight delivered to ensure packing slips are turned in, damages are reported to the responsible buyer, and the organization of temporary freight to remain onsite to keep the loading dock clear. Additionally, the receiving clerk will maintain sub-inventory supplies that are inventoried daily, replacing needed items, adjusting PAR levels, ensuring chargeable items have charge stickers attached, and completing necessary paperwork. Communication skills are essential for providing efficient customer service to the departments visited daily, and coordination among all positions within the department is necessary to keep operations running smoothly. This position will also be involved in monthly and annual inventories for the central supply storeroom and sub-inventory storerooms, with cross-training to cover other areas within the department as needed for vacation or sick coverage.
